SAFETY AND PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

The safety and well-being of our young participants is our top priority.

Who Can Enter:
Competitors aged 13 to 17 with Full Event Registration and parental consent.

Parents or guardians must:

  • Provide consent by signing our event waiver.
  • Be present either coaching or at ringside during the competition.
  • Ensure their teen's equipment meets safety standards.

For this event to be a success, we need your help. The goals of this tournament are to create an educational, fun, competitive, and safe tournament for our younger HEMA practitioners. To do this, we're going to need you to be with us as well. To participate in this tournament, your teen will need both your consent in signing our event waiver, as well as your presence either coaching or at ringside while they are competing.

Please use the chat feature or email us at info@socalswordfight.com should you have any questions.

BRING YOUR OWN STEEL SWORD

Participants will use their own steel longswords. All weapons will undergo a thorough safety inspection by the SoCal Swordfight team to ensure they meet competition standards.

U18 LONGSWORD CUTTING TOURNAMENT

As an added bonus, participants can also elect to join the U18 Cutting Competition. Select "Yes" during registration to add this exciting component to your experience.

JUDGING REQUIRMENT

Every participant is expected to judge one pool within their tier for each tournament they enter. This role is crucial for the smooth running of the event and helps build a supportive community. Opting out of judging incurs a $25 fee, but we encourage all participants to embrace this responsibility.

Registration Process

First, you’ll need to register each attendee individually. As you begin, choose the registration type that aligns with the activities you plan to participate in. If you opt for Full Event Registration, you’ll be prompted to select the specific tournaments you want to enter. The system will display only those tournaments that are appropriate for your age and registration type, making it easy to find the right fit.

Once you've made your selections, review your choices on the cart page. If everything looks correct, click the "Check Out" button to proceed. You’ll then fill out a registration form with essential details, including your name, contact information, and any club or school affiliation. Additionally, you’ll need to sign the Release and Waiver of Liability Agreement to ensure a safe environment for all participants.

If you are registering for a minor and are their parent or legal guardian, simply enter their name in the registration form. The waiver will automatically adjust to request parental consent once you input their date of birth.

After completing the registration form and signing the waiver, press the "Submit" button, followed by the "Checkout" button to proceed to payment. Once you finalize your payment, you’ll receive an email receipt confirming your registration, along with another email granting you electronic access to your tickets.

If you encounter any issues during this process, don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance. You can connect with us through the chat button on our website or email us at info@socalswordfight.com.
