Liam Clark

Liam Clark

Evergreen Historical Fencing
Washington, USA

Liam H. Clark is a renowned historical fencer with a passion for renaissance-era German fencing traditions, particularly the work of Joachim Meyer. With over eight years of fencing experience, he has honed his skills at Krieg School and Denver Historical Fencing Academy in Denver and now at Lonin in Seattle. He is also one of the most productive independent historical researchers in recent years, focusing on renaissance-era fencing masters -- their lives, fencing practices, culture, and more, publishing his findings freely through Evergreen Historical Fencing.  Notable achievements include illuminating the family of Joachim Meyer, detailing the life of the fencing master Wygand Brack, investigating the "other" fencing masters of Meyer's Strasbourg, and creating completely open-source research resources for all to access.

Liam holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver and is a professional educator at a large cancer care organization.  When not fencing, teaching, or pouring over the historical archives, Liam can be found sharing his enthusiasm for historical martial arts on the HEMA Discord, playing pickup baseball, or brewing another cup of very pinky-up coffee between work meetings.
